Twitter exploded on Wednesday after a couple who took part in a slavery-themed wedding photoshoot went viral.
In the photos, which took place on a sugarcane plantation, the groom, who is black, wears chains and is on his knees kissing his partner’s hands. The woman, who is white, wears a long skirt and white beanie and poses as if she is about to unlock her chains.
“1842. The days have passed and everything has changed, our love has grown stronger and stronger. He was no longer a slave. He was part of the family… Part 2 PRE-MARRIAGE session”, we can read in legend.
“There were three people there, including the photographer, and not a single thought, ‘should we [not do this]’? “someone wrote.” And over 1400 people hit the Like button? And this is part 2, like there is more? I so want to be at the wedding when the minister asks if anyone is against it. “
