If you take a look at Iowa star player Luka Garza, you’ll immediately notice his eyebrows.
They have become a topic of conversation as Garza continues to dominate the field. The Twice Sporting News Player of the Year even has a Twitter account dedicated to her eyebrows. Since Anthony Davis, we haven’t seen eyebrows captivate college basketball fans like Garza.
Look at these bad boys.
Garza is actually aware of the stir his eyebrows have caused. Talk with Barstool Sports ‘Bench Mob’ Podcast, Garza explained the tradition behind the eyebrows.
“I started hearing a lot of comments about my eyebrows once I started getting bigger and bigger. Especially my sophomore NCAA tournament was the worst,” Garza said. “After the game I check in and see all these memes and everything about my eyebrows. Nothing about the way I played or anything like that.
And those eyebrows didn’t come by accident. Garza says he maintains the look of his eyebrows.
“Over time I got better at waxing them and getting rid of the other hair there. I don’t want to have a unibrow. I respect Anthony Davis and what he does, but it’s not for me “Garza says. “I got better with the routine of keeping them up and not making them look bad.”
Garza says he also plucked his eyebrows to make them look as good as possible.
“It makes things a little easier, because picking them can be difficult and it hurts,” Garza says of waxing. “So I already did and it was cool.”
Since Garza says he’s improved his brow routine over the years, let’s see if there are any noticeable differences in the appearance of his brows.
Notice how older Garza (left side) has that weird part in his eyebrow. The current Garza would never allow that to happen. Look at how stable and firm Garza’s current eyebrows are. These things are not moving at all. Although it doesn’t look like old Garza is in danger of a unibrow.
